Great
teammates know how to complement each other. As Lucozade
Sport and the Western Basketball Association (WBA) enter
their 5th championship season together, the partnership
is moving into such exciting new territory so much so
that Lucozade Sport identified the partnership as a
continued opportunity to support one of Western
Jamaica’s premier sporting organizations.
GSK Caribbean’s Promotions Coordinator,
Danikee Knight
said "Lucozade Sport has a great deal of respect for the WBA because they continually strive for sporting
excellence and contribute significant time and resources
to encourage Western Jamaica's youth to embrace a
healthy and active lifestyle."
GSK is committed to supporting the community and this
partnership ensures the WBA can continue to excel both
on and off the court, and their loyal local fan base can
continue to enjoy watching great basketball action
throughout this season and beyond.
Danikee Knight’s sentiments were echoed by WBA VP,
Marketing, Khurt Comrie; "The WBA is excited about this
sponsorship and is proud to have such a great global
brand partner with us again. The support that Lucozade
Sport has given to us has been very significant and many
of our youths have benefited."
As evidence of this, a few weeks ago Samardo Samuels, a
former Muschett and Falmouth Flames player had entered
his name into the 2010 NBA Draft pool.
The Division One League will be aptly renamed the
Lucozade Sport Men's Basketball Championship for the
remainder of the season. Furthermore, Lucozade Sport
will be the league's official sports drink and
'Performance Partners'.
