Cavaliers sign undrafted Samardo Samuels
 Jamaican
and former
University of Louisville forward Samardo Samuels has
agreed in principle to a multi-year contract with the
Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent confirmed on Thursday.
Samuels, 6 feet 9 and 260 pounds, left Louisville after his
sophomore year and was not drafted in the free-agent draft.
He played in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with the
Chicago Bulls, however, and averaged 12.6 points and 7.4
rebounds in five games.
“It's been a stressful month,” agent David Bauman
said in an email, “but I told Samardo sometimes you enter
the NBA through the front door by being drafted, and
sometimes you have to take the long way and go through the
back door.” |
