WBA invites new basketball teams for Division 2

The Western Basketball Association (WBA) Division 2 Men's Development League (MBDL) accepting new teams from Hanover, St. James, Trelawny and Westmoreland wishing to join the fifth season set to bounce off in July 2010.

Teams interested in participating can contact the Association's Vice President for Leagues, Mr. Deon Williams at 876-890-7109 or info@wbajamaica.com immediately for registration.

Entry fees, league sponsor(s), league prizes will be announced in coming weeks via our official website (www.wbajamaica.com) and the media.

The MBDL has been the perfect "breeding ground" for new teams to develop their skills and eventually excel at it. Catherine Hall All-Stars and Railway Tigers are two teams which began at this level and both teams are now part of the expanded FLOW National Basketball League which is the island's most prestigious basketball league.

"It is evident that we have accomplished both team and player development these last few years." said an elated Galton Taylor, who serves as the Vice President for Development in the region. "We want to see more community based teams take advantage of this structured opportunity to better themselves through the sport."
