WBA NAME YOUR TEAM CONTEST
 As part of the continued player development some of the
best pool of players were selected to form this team
which will be our regional ambassadors as they compete
in friendly rivalry against other teams across the
island.
An invitation is
being extended to the public for help in creating a name
for Western Jamaica's traveling all-star basketball
team.

"A team is nothing without a name, stated Khurt
Comrie, VP of Marketing. We are looking for a name
that the people of Western Jamaica and the surrounding
regions will be proud to cheer for. The name will help
us make decisions from team colors to promotions. It is
a very important piece of the puzzle."
"We are looking for creativity and outside of the box
thinking on this one," stated Deon Williams, VP,
Leagues. "We want a name that will excite basketball
fans, added Williams; the team will represent the
western region that is why we are asking the community
to name it."
Organizers are
looking for a name that reflects the region as well as a
name that is feared by competitors.
Contestants are asked to submit their name idea to the
Western Basketball Association by using the contest form
that will be available at
Document
Solutions & More (Baywest Shopping Centre),
Jerky's Bar & Grill (Fairview Shopping Centre) all in
Montego Bay, Tastees in Falmouth (Trelawny) and
Kool Runnings Water Park (Negril). Contestants
may also submit their idea at www.wbajamaica.com/name_your_team.php.
The contest will start on April 7th and run through
April 16th. The new name will be announced on April
18th.
The winner of
the contest will receive two thousand dollars
($2,000.00) a personalized team jersey and a FREE cell
phone with $500.00 credit courtesy of Document Solutions
& More.
