Samuels dominates and impresses NBA scouts

Samardo Samuels drove around Kenneth Faried in the second half. (By Michael Clevenger, The Courier-Journal) March 20, 2009Louisville, KY (12-28-2009): Forward Samardo Samuels received an early Christmas present when he established new career-highs for points and rebounds last Wednesday in University of Louisville's 84-69 victory over University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Samuels sank 10-of-16 field goal attempts and 9-of-15 from the free throw line to finish with 29 points while snatching 15 rebounds, six of which came off the offensive glass.

The sophomore then returned last night and continued his assault, scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds to lead Louisville past Radford University 79-53. This was his fourth double-double of the season and came in front of a dozen NBA scouts who were on hand for the game. He led a rebounding effort that saw the Cards surpass 20 offensive boards (23) for the second straight game.

Louisville is now 9-3 and will host University of South Florida on Wednesday, December 30 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
