NBA/NFL Celebrity Sports Camps
RuJohn Foundation Returns to Host Third Annual Summer
Sporting Camps
This
summer marks the third consecutive occasion in which the
RuJohn Foundation will return to Jamaica to host their
celebrity summer sporting camps. Once again the
non-profit organization has joined forces with other
pre-existing foundations such as the Rudi Johnson
Foundation to formulate a collaborative effort in
providing camps of instruction and skill to various
youth throughout the island.
The highly anticipated event has summoned numerous
former and current celebrity athletes from the National
Basketball Association and National Football League. The
prestigious professionals, along with a handful of
volunteers, will be on hand to share first-hand
expertise and skill in the sports of basketball and
football.
The list of athletes includes: Rudi Johnson (NFL
/ Cincinnati Bengals), James Farrior (NFL /
Pittsburgh Steelers), Shaun Smith (NFL /
Cleveland Browns), Laurence Maroney (NFL / New
England Patriots), T.J. Houshmanzadah (NFL /
Cincinnati Bengals), E.G. Green (NFL / Former
Indianapolis Colts), George Foster (NFL / Detroit
Lions), Jamie Sharper (NFL / Former Seattle
Seahawks), Eric Henderson (NFL / Cincinnati
Bengals), Andray Blatche (NBA / Washington
Wizards), Rashad McCants (NBA / Minnesota
Timberwolves), and Delonte West (NBA / Cleveland
Cavaliers). Also returning is Dr. Paulette Johnson;
head cheerleading coach at Virginia State University.
The motivational veteran coach's involvement last year
was indeed a great addition to the RuJohn Foundation's
effort as she and accompanying "Woo Woo" cheerleader
Parrish Haynes showed a vast amount of young ladies
a variety of instruction and cheers.
On this year's agenda, the movement will matriculate to
conduct camps at Kingston College on June 23rd, at
Herbert Morrison High School on June 25th, and at Kool
Runnings Runnings Water Park on Thursday, June 26th.
Furthermore, the foundation extends their hand of
service as they have scheduled to distribute donations
to over 13 schools and associations.
