KNIGHTS LOOK TO JOIN WIZARDS IN FLOW NBL

After last weekend's postponement of the Flow/Southern Conference National Basketball League (NBL), champions Urban Knight will look to join Tivoli Wizards at the top of the standings when the competition continues today at the Stadium courts.

The Knights (nine points) play newcomers Selassie Gardens in the opening game, while St George's Slayers, also on nine, will look to keep pace with the leaders when they face Rebels, who have lost their last two matches.

Tomorrow, Portmore Flames tackle Blazing Panthers in an interesting clash.

Both have three wins from six games and fancy themselves to be among the front-runners, so both will be gunning for victory.

In the other game, Selassie Gardens - with two wins from five starts - will start favourites against lowly Arnett Rockers who have lost a few players to the St Georges Slayers. The Rockers have just one win from seven games this season.

In the Eastern Conference, second-placed Morant Bay (eight points) will look to close the gap on Playaz, when they meet joint cellar-dwellers, Buff Bay Archers (six)also at Bath.

Meanwhile, Pure Playaz, with maximum 12 points from six games, should extend their winning streak when they face third-placed Portland Pistons (seven), also at Bath tomorrow.

Action in the Western Conference will see leaders Hoopers looking to take full advantage of Granville Jaguars' inactivity this weekend when they turn out against third-placed Catherine Hall Allstars, tomorrow.

Hoopers and Jaguars sit on top with 10 points, followed by Allstars with eight. A win for Allstars would leave them tied with Jaguars and one adrift of Hoopers.

Today, Innercity Avalanche take on Sav-la-Mar Hawks, as both go for their second win of the season.

Team AAAH will have a chance to go top of the keenly contested Central Conference, with leaders Nain Moreups (nine points) out of action this weekend.

Team AAAH (eight should get the better of Spaulding Hippers, who are winless in five, at Aenon Town today.

Tomorrow, Victory can join Team AAAH at the top when they play Manchester Pythons, who are looking to rebound from their first loss in four matches, also at Aenon Town.

NBL newcomers Selassie Gardens' Arthur Miller returns to action twice this weekend against contrasting opponents. They face NBL defending champions Urban Knights today and bottom of tables Arnett Gardens Rockers tomorrow.
