Catherine Hall inch closer to NBL title
MONTEGO BAY, St James - Catherine Hall All-Stars inched
closer to a place in the final of the Flow National
Basketball League-West on Saturday after completing
their preliminary round fixture by beating Sav Hawks
55-53 in a close game at the Montego Bay Cricket Club,
winning their fourth straight game.
The win took Catherine Hall to 14 points and top of the
standings and could be joined by Hoopers and Granville
Jaguars, who are both on 12 points and with a game in
hand.
Meanwhile, the loss further doomed Sav Hawks to
relegation as they inched to nine points with game in
hand.

On Saturday, Sav staged a late rally, outscoring
Catherine Hall 23-17 in the fourth quarter, but just
fell short of scoring their second win.
Catherine Hall led by six points (15-9) after the first
quarter, but Hawks cut the deficit to two points
trailing 20-22 at half-time.
The ding-dong battle continued in the third as Catherine
Hall rebounded to widen the lead to eight points (38-30)
going in to the final quarter.
Goyan Malcolm led the scoring for Catherine Hall with 27
points and 12 rebounds, Jermaine Rerrie had nine points
and 12 rebounds, while Ali Thompson chipped in with
seven points.
Richard Chambers scored 22 points for Sav Hawks, while
the veterans Maurice Rodriques and Dellon Hodges scolded
12 and nine points, respectively, while combining for 28
rebounds.
