Basketball Championship (Div 1) Delayed…Again
Montego Bay, JA - The start of the 2007 Men's Basketball
Championship season was rescheduled due to repairs and
infrastructural improvements to the court at the Mobay Cricket Club.
The reschedule will also afford participating teams an extension to
submit their with outstanding affiliation and entry fees. The new
start date is Saturday, March 17, 2007.
Some changes that teams and patrons alike will recognize this season
are the painting of the hoops, backboards; the key area of the court
and the installation of 24 second shot clocks on both backboards.
These aesthetical and technical additions come at a time when our
games will be aired on community cable channels in the Western
region of Jamaica namely, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland and
Trelawny. Secondly, the game of basketball will develop since the 24
sec clocks are used internationally; which will better our players
for higher standards of play.
The WBA is really "Sporting a Winning Attitude!"
