Friday night will be buzzing with action as the second round
of the Western Basketball Association (WBA) Men's Basketball
D-League rolls-on with a double-header at the Montego Bay
Cricket Club Multi-purpose court.
At 6:30pm, third-place Bay City Lions will trying to bounce
back from their second consecutive losses when they face the
strong Trelawny Tornadoes outfit who are secure in the
second sport in the standings.
Lions will be depending on the leadership of Floyd "Lloydie"
Dixon and the incumbent star Rohan Brown who has
led the Lions in scoring in two of their three matches so
far. While Huntley Dehaney and company will have to
play well as they have all season if they expect to remain
one of the favorite to win the championship.
League
leaders City Knights and bottom dwellers Marchtown Spartans
will face-off in the final game at 8pm. In their last
encounter several weeks ago the versatile and diverse
Knights trumped the Spartans 106-41. Omroy Kerr
lighted it up by scoring 32 points, Gavin Brown
finished with 13, while Jhaun Bryan came off the
bench to score a double-double - 11 points and 10 rebounds -
including an amazing dunk in the second quarter.
The Spartans have improved as this tournament have
progressed, but they are still winless, but should Royal
and Kaydian Ferguson marshal their team on offense
and defense, then things will not be very easy for the
Knights.
