  City Knights quiet the Trelawny Tornadoes

Trelawny Tornadoes gave the Men's Basketball League leaders City Knights a scare in Saturday night’s closer at the Montego Bay Cricket Club court in the battle of the D2 heavyweights.

The clash promised to be a high quality, hard-fought contest and the first quarter proved exactly that, in actuality Tornadoes won the first quarter 13-12 and begun to stamp their print all over with some impeccable offense matched with defense. They had Knights trailing 36-28 by the half-time break.

With both teams going basket for basket, City Knights regained their offensive prowess and begun making holes through Tornadoes' tough defensive wall and snatching the game lead (52-46) by the end of the third.

By the end of the fourth, the Knights scraped away with a nail-biting one-point (59-58) win over the Tornadoes to maintain their unbeaten run atop the leader board.

Omroy Kerr top-scored with 23 points to go with his four boards. Jamoy Richards was the next best contributor with 10 points, five boards, two assists and four steals.

For the team from Trelawny, Huntley Dehaney led his team with a double-double, 23 points and twelve boards. His team-mates Fitzroy Gordon and Sanjay Campbell delivered 10 points each.
