MONTEGO BAY, St James - Sav Hawks should complete
the semi-final line-up in the Western Basketball
Association's Lucozade Sport Men's Basketball Championship
today when they take on last-placed Junior Avalanche in a
return-round game at the Montego Bay Cricket Club starting
at 7:00 pm.
Hawks, who were relegated from the NBL/West at the end of
last season, are currently on 15 points from 10 games after
beating Granville Wolfpack 69-53 last weekend.
A
win for Hawks would ensure that they finish ahead of
Granville Wolfpack, who play Trelawny Tornadoes in the first
game of a double header tomorrow, and join Central Flames,
Hopewell Vipers and Montego Bay Cricket Club Knights in the
top four.
Flames lead with 18 points with two games to go followed by
Vipers and Knights both on 17 points each. Vipers have
played 11 games, while Knights have contested 10.
In the other game scheduled for this weekend, Knights and
Flames will meet in what looks to be a mouth-watering
match-up. Flames had won the first-round game 82-71.
Meanwhile, there were wins for Vipers, Sav Hawks and Knights
last weekend. Vipers beat Junior Avalanche 54-32, Sav Hawks
beat Granville Wolfpack 69-53, while Knights beat Trelawny
Tornadoes 74-49.
On Saturday, Hopewell Vipers won their seventh game after an
easy 54-32 win over last-placed Junior Avalanche, thanks to
a big fourth quarter that they won 22-12.
