Tigers rip through Jnr. Avalanche 64-41

The Railway Tigers made it a successful weekend, taking victory against the hapless Innercity Junior Avalanche in last Sunday's first game and putting their unit within striking distance of the league leaders Central Flames and Granville Wolfpack. They also handed their opponents their eighth straight whipping.

They controlled the game from the jump and did not relinquish the lead for the rest of the match. Tigers roared to a 24-21 lead by half-time and by the third term had ripped through Jnr. Avalanche's defensive sets outscoring them 24-6, which provided a massive 21-point lead going into the fourth term.

Dorian Williams was in form for Tigers, dropping game-high 22 points and ten rebounds, with Detroy Jewery snagging 15 points and Anthony Christie again shining with 11 points.

For Jnr. Avalanche it was import Mickey Haughton who dominated, collecting 18 points and 5 rebounds, with Franz Clennon hitting 12 points.

Upcoming games this Saturday, May 30 will see Hopewell Vipers facing a more purposeful Railway Tigers at 5pm, while the re-energized Granville Wolfpack will duke-it-out with Mid-season and league leader Central Flames at 7pm.
