Warriors
succumbs to Tigers
It was Railway Tigers who proved themselves consistent on
Saturday night in the day's second game – collecting the win
as reward.
Boys' Club Warriors were not perturbed by Tigers win record
and current form; they out hustled and outscored the cats in
the first two terms 14-12 and 15-10. At halftime, Warriors
held onto 29-22 lead.
In the third, poor officiating gave way to a low scoring
affair as some twenty infractions were whistled. Despite the
setback, Tigers edged their opponents 9-4 to tie the match
up at 31 all.
Riding the wave, Tigers dumped 19 point fourth term
(compared with the Warriors’ 15) which saw the game split
open which afforded the team from Railway Lane a four-point
win in the end.
Caustant Holness top-scored for the winners with 19
points and 9 boards and two blocks, with Detroy Jewery
showing presence to post 9 points.
Sheldon Lyle the stand-out performer managing a
dapper 18 points and six steals to swing the game. He was
assisted by Andrew Dixon, who showed form to hit 11
points and Dwayne Hamilton 10.
