  Flames engulfs Wolfpack 65-62
 


Central Flames continued their dominant start to 2009 Lucozade Sport Men's Basketball Championship on Saturday night, accounting for Granville Wolfpack by three points.

It was a valiant effort by Granville, who were determined to earn only their third straight win of the season.

For the Wolfpack, Lawrence Dowman top-scored with 15 points and 6 rebounds and three assists, while Andre Uter and Jomo Johnson collected 12 points respectively. Uter added four rebounds and two assists in a quality all-round performance.

Cecil Cole claimed an adequate 17 points and nine boards for the Flames, with Craig Dorman snaring a haul of 16 for himself along with six boards, four assists, three steals and two blocks to confirm victory. Cordell Gordon supported with 12 as well.

With only three points (49-46) separating the teams at the end of the third term, despite trailing Granville had the chance to snatch victory. However, the Flames stood firm with a 19 point final quarter, earning them a third consecutive victory.
