Marlon: I need some more insight on the D League.
On the WBA website it says about
3 - 4 teams are promoted, do you mean they will be promoted
to the D1?
Comrie: Since inception, the aim of the Lucozade
Sport Men's Championship or the MBC for short aimed to
become the region's most elite tournament, boasting the most
talented athletes. We understood that for us to accomplish
growth we had to separate the 'men from the boys' so to
speak. In 2006, the Men's Open League was divided into two
leagues. Six (6) teams played under the MBC while eight (8)
contested the D-League. In 2007, The D-League grew to twelve
(12) with the two top teams gaining promotion to the MBC in
2008, thus expanding same to eight (8). Logistically, the
number ten (10) is the best number to maintain.
SUNDAY, JUNE 15
Ross-Andre M: This message is to first commend
the creation of this site so as to give the world an
opportunity to view us in the sense that we are as skilled
as other teams in the world.
Comrie: Thanks for the good words. We will do our
best to continue to expose our local talent and activities
on the world's stage.
SATURDAY, JUNE 14
Jeniese D: Too many errors are being made by the
referees throughout the matches. The errors that are being
made are too obvious so something needs to be done to ensure
that the league upholds its credibility and the teams are
sent forward based on their performances rather than their
popularity.
Comrie: Thank you for your email regarding the
referee's performance at the weekend fixture. We are sorry
that you were disappointed with the performance in that
match. Please be assured that the performance of the referee
in this fixture, together with all performances by the
league referees, will be reviewed with him/them in detail in
a number of different ways. There is constant monitoring of
referees' performances, over time this process will only
improve the quality of our referees.
SATURDAY, MAY 31
Tammy D: Can you explain why only two teams have
their complete roster on the web site?
Comrie: The website continues to be upgraded and
content is added almost everyday. Manpower is however
lacking and as a result most details for several team/clubs'
pages are not yet available online for you to see, but that
doesn't mean that they have not already being created. In
the coming days additional links to other club pages will
become active. Your continued patience is appreciated.
THURSDAY, May 22
Lorin L:
have clips on
you tube . I played in the and 1 league , and other
tournaments around the United States . I have video clips
,that i can send
Comrie: Thanks for contacting us Lorin, pardon the
delay in getting back to you due to issues affecting our
email. We would be more than happy to see your Youtube
clips. Have you ever been to Jamaica?
SATURDAY, April 26
Kym H: Why is it that I cannot find fixture for
round 2?
Comrie: You will
be happy to know that the fixtures for both Round 2 and the
Playoffs for the 2008 Lucozade Sport Men's Basketball
Championship can be found under the
Downloads menu
on our website. These were uploaded some two weeks ago,
however the link on our front page only pointed to that of
Round 1. Looking forward to your continued support and
welcome your suggestions and critique of this website and
that of our basketball leagues.
SATURDAY, December 29
Daniel R: how old do you have to be to join this club ?
Comrie: Affiliation to the WBA is open to players 13
years and older. Volunteers 18 years old and above are
welcomed.
WEDNESDAY,
December 26
Paul R: Your Basketball movies list does not have the
best ever \'Hoosiers\' so the list is incomplete.
Comrie: Thanks Paul, we chose to stick to the more
recent basketball movies, titles which the younger
demographic could relate to. However I do agree that
Hoosiers is arguably the best basketball movie.
MONDAY, November 26
Munair: I want to play ball, where do I sign up or if
any open team need a player? I play Point Guard (PG) and
Shooting Guard (SG).
