LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL SELECT TO
HOST TEAM FROM VIRGINIA
On Good Friday
March 21 at 3:00 pm in the afternoon, the Montego Bay
Cricket Club court will be buzzing when a local
contingent of high school basketballers from Western
Jamaica will host a visiting team from Norfolk Christian
Academy out of Virginia in the United States. Norfolk
Christian is a private school with players ranging from
14-18 years old.
Invited by the Jamaica Basketball and the Western
Basketball Associations, Norfolk Christian's visit will
provide our local talent continued developmental
exposure and the experience to play against other
basketball players within their age group from outside
their everyday environs.
Basketball helps to educate our children to care for and
respect their bodies and the importance of achieving and
maintaining good health, while teaching the valuable
lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, friendly competition
and leadership, come out and support them and the WBA as
we continue to 'sport a winning attitude.'
