LIONS' CLARKE FINED
FOR MISCONDUCT
Be advised that the
disciplinary meeting with Mervin Clarke of Bay City
Lions Basketball Club was held on April 2, 2008 at the
Montego Bay Cricket Club Board Room.
Arising from same is that Mervin Clarke should
pay a fine of Two Thousand dollars for being verbally
abusive to an official. He must provide a written
apology to Mr. Williams the official involved in the
incident and the Western Basketball Association
respectively.
Mr. Clarke will not be allowed to play until these
requisites are met. He is also on probation for the
remainder of the season.
“The League is the showpiece of the sport and we must
make every attempt to insure the integrity of the League
is upheld,” said WBA League Commissioner Miss Myrtle
Wedderburn.
“It’s been an unfortunate incident and one we’re
confident will not be repeated in the too distant
future.”
