2009 JPS Parish League about to be Reconnected

After much delay, the highly anticipated JPS All Island Parish League is about to be switched on at various venues throughout western Jamaica and the rest of the nation after a 13-month break. The delay was caused mainly in part to the election of an entirely new body within the Jamaica Basketball Association whom recently held its annual general meeting on February 1, 2009.

The JPS league was launched in 2004, successfully contributing to the development of the potential of the youth in communities across the island.

Usually, where there exists more than one team residing within a particular parish; as such a playoff match would ensue, with the winner getting the nod to represent same. This season due to late start, the WBA has already predetermined the representative teams. They are as follows:

Hopewell Vipers - Hanover
Hoopers
- St. James
Trelawny Tornadoes - Trelawny
Sav-La-Mar Hawks - Westmoreland

Sponsorship total, fixtures will be announced later, in the meantime, teams mentioned above are encouraged to download entry form and resubmit to the WBA as soon as possible.
