CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Central men's basketball team gave ICCAC conference leader and fifth-ranked Kirkwood another competitive game, but the Tritons fell down the stretch 69-63 on Tuesday night.

Iowa Central (10-19 overall, 3-10 in the league) has lost two games to Kirkwood (24-5, 12-1) by just 11 points this season.

Centre Courtney Walters only made 6 points while freshman guard Kurt Alexander led Iowa Central with 26 points. However, Alexander and Josh Henry were the only Tritons in double figures. Henry contributed 18 points by going 4-for-9 from three point range.

Walters was hostile on the boards with nine;  Alexander pulled down seven rebounds.

Iowa Central will be in action next at the regional tournament hosted by Southwestern at Creston this Saturday.
