Lady Avalanche weave victory over Naldi Knights
 The
Innercity Lady Avalanche played host to the Naldi Lady
Knights on Saturday, looking to secure its first win of
the season. And this they did, comfortably by 8 points.
After the first ten minutes both teams were locked at
nine points a piece as they worked off the rust.
The second quarter proved beneficial to the Lady Avs as
they weaved a big lead. They kept the Lady Knights
scoreless while dropping 13 points and occupying a 22-9
lead going into half-time.
Not to be counted out though, the Naldi Knights jousted
back in the third to win the quarter 13-5 and gave the
excited fans something to cheer about; further chopping
Lady Avs lead down to 5.
Although Naldi fought back in the third, Innercity was
still able to outpace them 10-7 by the final whistle.
For the victorious Lady Avalanche, Nicole Dias
was in good form with 15 points and nine rebounds, and
was well supported by Suzzett Virgo and
Ladonna Lamonth with 8 points each.
Alicia Dawkins dominated for the Lady
Knights with 14 points, while Tione Gowe
added 10 points.
