Match Report: Round 1

Pacers get run-over by defending champs

The defending Female Basketball Champions - Unique Ballers of Trelawny opened their defense by overrunning the Mobay Pacers 60-19 on Saturday at the Montego Bay Cricket Club Multi-Purpose court.

A slow start by both sides quickly turned into an all-out assault by the Ballers, who shot to a 15-point lead at half-time.

The short-handed Pacers were unable to stem the flow of the Ballers points, eventually getting beat by 41 points.

Tracy-Ann Kelly topped all scorers with 16 points, 8 steals along with four boards and assists, while Tasheika Brown ended with the first double-double of the season 15 points and 10 boards. Zandria Dell also scored 15 points.

For the Pacers, Danielle Ellis collected 10 points, 9 boards and two assists.

Unique Ballers should be inspired to another big performance next coming weekend. While on the other hand, Mobay Pacers will want to forget about this loss.

Game MVP: Tracy-Ann Kelly (Unique Ballers)

Saturday's matchup @ 5:30pm will be: Naldi Lady Knights and Innercity Lady Avalanche.
