Match Report: Round 1

Lady Avalanche subdue Mobay Pacers by 8

In the evening curtain closer, the Innercity Lady Avalanche's Ladonna Lamonth who was traded from the Mobay Angels last season, continued her stellar performance with her second double-double so far with 18 points and 11 rebounds along with three block shots. Suzzette Virgo continues to do the intangibles notching 10 points, 7 rebounds, four dimes and five steals, while Nicole Dias was huge in the rebound column with 16 along with 6 points and three blocks to help their team stop the Mobay Pacers 36-28.

It were the Pacers who won the first term 5-3, but Lady Avs rallied back in the second 11-1 and by half-time led 14-6. In the third they increased the score to 28-14 until the Pacers rebounded a bit too late in the fourth, outscoring the victors 14-8. Jody-Ann Grant led the Pacers with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Christine Brown contributed with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

The victory keeps the Lady Avalanche within striking distance on 5 points after a 2 wins, 1 loss start. Unique Ballers remain the leaders of the FBL with 6 points.
