Lady Knights & Unique Ballers stamp their class Strong
performances from Shadian Hemmings, Tione Gowe
and Rita Spence saw the Nadli Lady Knights
overcome the Innercity Lady Avalanche by 16 points at
the Montego Bay Cricket Club Multipurpose court on
Sunday afternoon.
Hemmings drained a game-high 15 points as well as 12
boards and five steals, while Gowe showed her importance
to the Knights’ finals chances with another 12 points,
two rebounds, two steals and two dimes performance. The
towering woman in the middle Spence earned her first 11
points, 11 boards double-double of the season. She also
swatted two shots and snatched five steals to send a
strong message to the rest of the league.
Lady Knights got ahead of the second-placed Lady
Avalanche 9-7 in the first term before capitulating in
19-9 in the second. Showing constant improvement the
Lady Knights stayed ahead of their opponents the entire
match 13-12 in the third and 12-7 in the fourth to earn
their second win from four matches.
Double-double queen Ladonna Lamonth top-scored
for the losers with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while the
defensive minded Suzzette Virgo grabbed 8
rebounds, snatched 5 steals made two blocks all with her
six points contribution.
The Lady Knights have at least started to show some
competitiveness lately and will be licking their lips as
the creep closer to the undefeated league leaders -
Unique Ballers and a finals berth.

Unique Ballers embarrasses Pacers
The
Ballers maintained their momentum as the team to beat
after they embarrassed the Mobay Pacers 72-15 on Friday
night in the lone Female Basketball League game.
They dominated in the paint and enjoyed an excellent
shooting display from Cashika Brown on her way to
a game-high 28 points. Brown went close to a
double-double
but came up short with 9 rebounds.
Tracy-Ann Kelly supported her with a well-rounded 22
points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, seven steals and two
blocks performance earning her self game MVP honors.
Zandria Dell finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds,

Jody-Ann Grant's 6 points, 6 rebounds and nine steals
outing was not
enough to even challenge the defending
champions.
