BASKETBALL ROUNDUP - MAR 25

SIC eliminated from National Tournament Playoffs

Hutchinson, KS (3-25-2008) – Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) was eliminated from the NJCAA Men's National Tournament over the weekend by Eastern Arizona College after falling 70-53. The superior size and inside game of Eastern Arizona proved to be too much for SIC to overcome. After falling behind by as many as 22 points, SIC could do very little as their opponents pounded the ball inside and got its big men into foul trouble. Forward Andree Wilson capped a fine season, scoring 18 points and hauling down nine rebounds.

Center Jerome Jordan again scored in double figures by adding 12 points and seven rebounds. Houston defeated Valparaiso University 91-67 to end Valpo’s season. Another Jamaican, guard Michael Rogers, scored 12 points and grabbed seven en rebounds in a losing cause for Valparaiso.
