Samuels leads Louisville past Appalachian State Louisville,
KY (11-24-2009): Center Samardo Samuels
delivered 16 points for No. 16 University of Louisville
as they ran by Appalachian State University 80-53 last
night to improve their record to 4-0. After remaining
close in the early minutes, Samuels led a key 10-3 run
to give the cardinals some breathing room at halftime
before taking control in the second half.
The 6' 9" forward is averaging 17.5 points and eight
rebounds per game for the Cardinals so far this
season. Louisville travels to Las Vegas on Saturday to
face University of Nevada - Las Vegas (UNLV).
Jordan too much for South Alabama Tulsa,
OK (11-24-2009): Jerome Jordan scored 23
points as University of Tulsa overpowered South Alabama
84-62 over the weekend. Tulsa (4-0) used a 12-0 run to
take command late in the first half after a 23-23 tie.
Jordan, who many are calling a young Tim Duncan,
hit on 7-of-15 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free
throw line. He also grabbed nine boards and swatted away
two shots. Tulsa returns to the court tonight to face
Loyola Marymount University at home.
Forbes making a name for himself at Trinity Valley Athens,
TX (11-24-2009): Power forward Adrian Forbes,
who recently signed a letter of intent to play division
one basketball at Auburn University next season, scored
10 points last night to help Trinity
Valley Community College move to 6-0.
The 6' 8" - 230-pound power forward from Spanish Town,
Jamaica, is presently one of the top-ranked junior
college players in the nation. Trinity Valley will open
conference play against Tyler Junior College at home on
Saturday afternoon.
Alliman Named MVP of Cedarville Tournament Cedarville,
OH (11-24-2009): Senior forward Ricardo Alliman
scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help NAIA
Division II #15 Cedarville University lift the
championship trophy in the 32nd Annual Cedarville
Invitational Tournament on Sunday night.
Alliman was later voted tournament MVP and named to the
All-Tournament team. Cedarville, 4-2 on the season,
defeated Trevecca Nazarene University 78-73 in the
championship game after leading by as many as 20 points
on four occasions in the second half.
