Samuels solid in Louisville's opener Miami, FL

– Sophomore Samardo Samuels poured in 17 points
to help No. 20 University of Louisville defeat
University of Arkansas 96-66 last night in the Hall of
Fame Showcase.
The 6' 9" center also grabbed five rebounds and blocked
two shots. This was the sixth straight victory for the
Cardinals in their season opener and it provided head
coach Rick Pitino with his 750th career victory.
Louisville (1-0) will next face East Tennessee State
University on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. EST.
Jordan paces Tulsa over UALR Miami,
FL (11-18-2009): Conference USA's preseason Player
of the Year, Jerome Jordan, scored 19 points and
grabbed nine rebounds last night to pace the University
of Tulsa to a 59-45 victory over University of
Arkansas-Little Rock.
Jordan scored 15 of his points in the first half,
hitting on 4-of-6 shots from the field to help Tulsa
(3-0) to a 25-20 lead. The 7-foot center also made his
presence felt on defense and was a big reason why Little
Rock shot just 33 percent from the field. His final stat
line also included nine rebounds, two assists, two
blocks and a steal.
