Wilson, formerly of St. George's Slayers in the
Kentucky Fried Chicken
(KFC)/National Basketball League (NBL), led six
players in double-figures as Southeastern Illinois
College led wire-to-wire in a 93-59 rout of Lake Land
College last night. Wilson finished with a
double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing a
game-high 15 rebounds (12 in the first half) as SIC
out-rebounded their opponents 61-40. SIC (14-2) now
prepares to face its biggest challenge so far this
season when undefeated and 15th ranked Kaskaskia College
come calling on Saturday afternoon in SIC's home and
conference opener.
Samuels
set to star in the Nike Super Six Invitational
Miami, FL (1-11-2008) – Fresh off their shock defeat
at the hands of Academy of the New Church
on Tuesday, Samardo
Samuels and No. 1-ranked St. Benedict's Prep will
return to the court this weekend in the Nike Super
Six Invitational tournament at Madison Square
Gardens in New York City.
The tournament features the
top powerhouse boys basketball teams in the New York
City and northern New Jersey areas and will include four
of the ranked teams in USA Today’s Super 25 rankings -
No. 1 St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ), No. 5 St.
Patrick (Elizabeth, NY), No. 8 St. Raymond (Bronx, NY)
and No. 12 Rice (New York City). St Benedict’s (13-1)
will play the final game on Sunday against Rice (8-1).
