Jamaican trio shines as Cedarville gains revenge against

– NAIA Division II No. 19 Cedarville University opened
its 2008 schedule with a 103-74 blow-out victory over
Point Park University last night to gain sweet revenge
for their loss to Point Park in the American Mideast
Conference championship game last season. The talented
Jamaica trio produced 42 points, 21 rebounds, and seven
blocks, as forward Christopher Walker led the way
with a team-high 17 points and nine rebounds, followed
by center Daniel Rose with 13 points, seven
rebounds, and six blocks, and forward Ricardo Alliman
with 12 points and five rebounds. This was the fourth
straight victory for Cedarville and 10 of their last
11as they now sport a 10-3 record.
SIC wins conference opener over Lincoln Trail

– Coach Todd Franklin and his Southeastern
Illinois College Falcons walked into the home of
defending Region XXIV champions, Lincoln Trail College,
and came away 65-52 victors on Saturday night to open
their conference schedule on a winning note. Forward
Andree Wilson, formerly of St George’s Slayers in
the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)/National Basketball
League (NBL), led SIC with a game-high 17 points. The
victory improved SIC to 13-2 on the season.
