SIC survives John A. Logan
Harrisburg, IL (2-1-2008) Andree Wilson
buried a couple of big shots last night to help
Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) escape with a 72-70
win over John A. Logan College. Down by as many as nine
points in the second half, coach Todd Franklin
decided to stick with his "Iron Five" lineup and they
delivered.
SIC orchestrated a 17-3 run that was capped by a
jump-hook from Wilson off the right block to take the
lead for good then held off Logan's last gasp effort.
Wilson finished with 14 points for SIC who improved to
18-4.
UDC ends losing streak with OT victory
Washington, DC (2-1-2008) University of District
of Columbia (UDC), after playing its last three games on
the road, returned home last night and defeated Kutztown
University 81-79 in overtime to end a two-game losing
streak.
Don Powell, formerly of St. Elizabeth Technical
High School (STETHS), notched his first career
double-double by scoring 17 points and grabbing a
team-high 14 rebounds.
