WBA AWARDS PRESENTATION CEREMONY
Montego Bay, Jamaica - The Western Basketball Association
has released its candidates for major voted awards for all its
basketball leagues which will be presented at the League's
Annual Awards Presentation at Montego Bay Cricket Clubhouse on
Sunday, December 23, 2007 starting at 3:00 pm.
Nicolas
Rhoomes (Rainbow Storm) tops the Men's Basketball
Championship nominations with four, Goyan Malcolm (C-Hall
All-Stars) garners three, and Adolph Erskine (Avalanche),
Tommy Davis (Railway Tigers), Robert Spence and
Maurice Rodriquez (Sav Hawks) each earn two nods.
On the other hand, Lawrence Dowman (Granville Wolfpack)
and Nicholas Watson (Railway Cubs) leads all Men's
Basketball League (Division 2) nominees with four. Omar Biggs
(Railway Cubs) boasts three. Dinwal Kaisley and
Huwayne Blake (Granville Jaguars) dons two.
In the female segment, Suzzette Virgo (Lady Avalanche)
leads all with four, while Donesha Love (Mobay Angels)
and Shadian Hemmings (Naldi Knights) deservingly follows
with three a piece.
"This season's nominations truly reflect a diverse and talented
bunch of athletes who represent some of the most worthy teams
this year," said Mr. Charles Stephenson, President of the
WBA. "Other players and teams not mentioned will be awarded
also."
