Catherine Hall All-Stars' NBL Voyage Begins Today

NBL newcomers and the 2007 Western Basketball Association's Men's Basketball Champions Catherine Hall All-stars and  Port Royal Bulls - last season's Southern Conference Division One Champions will square-off for the new President trophy, a new initiative for the promoted teams as the opening day of the 2008 KFC National Basketball League takes place this evening at the Edgewater Sports Complex this afternoon at 4:30.

          

Catherine Hall, led by wily guard Goyan Malcolm and centre Jermaine Dillon. Player/coach Radcliffe Rhynie said his team will be trying to be the first WBA team to stay above relegation - since most promoted teams only manage to do a one year tenure in the national league.

Catherine Hall will be banking on the experience of Malcolm who previously played for Runnin' Rebels; Dave Black and Jermaine Rerrie who played in the NBL with Norwood Storms in 2006.

This season's winners will take home $150,000, second place will get $100,000, third-place $50,000 and fourth $30,000.
